Prof. Cun-Yue Guo
School of Chemical Sciences, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China

Speech title: Thermoelectric polymer/SWCNT composites and their properties

Abstract: Thermoelectric (TE) materials directly convert heat to electricity. Conductive polymers (CPs) hold great potential for harvesting low-grade thermal energy which is beneficial for highly efficient energy utilization and environmental protection. High-performance TE composites are realized...more...

Guangdong University of Finance & Economics/School of Art and Design, Associate Professor, Nanling Mountains Scholar, Senior Engineer, Director and Branch Chairman of Guangdong Instrumentation and Control Society

Speech title: Study on Retro-Reflective Interfaces Controlling the Microclimate of Street Canyons

Abstract: In building energy calculations, secondary reflection is often overlooked, and control methods are extremely scarce. There are few studies on how changing street canyon interface materials affects the outdoor microclimate. This study provides a detailed investigation of retroreflective interface materials' effects...more...

Prof. Adrian Ioinovici
Shanghai University of Electrical Power, Shanghai, China

Speech title: Switched-capacitor power electronics for photovoltaics-supplied energy applications

Abstract: After a brief introduction to the switched-capacitor based conversion of the electrical energy, switched capacitor multilevel inverters will be discussed.. The focus will be on common ground switched capacitor multilevel inverters in the light of the requirements imposed by photovoltaics when used as energy sources. The limits of the state-of-the-art solutions will be shown. Further directions of the research to meet the challenges imposed on the power electronics used as the front end of the electrical grid supplied by renewable energy will be presented.
